What is Music Therapy?
Music therapy is a discipline in which credentialed professionals use music purposefully within therapeutic relationships to support development, health, and well-being. Music therapists use music safely and ethically to address human needs within cognitive, communicative, emotional, musical, physical, social, and spiritual domains.

WHAT IS A
MTA stands for Music Therapist Accredited, and is the professional designation for music therapists who have completed the certification process which includes a university music therapy program, a 1000 hour internship, and the passing of a board exam. MTAs maintain their designation by adhering strict;y to ethical guidelines, and maintaining their clinical musician and therapeutically through continuing education.
